PROJECT New York returned to Iron 23 this July for a 3-day contemporary and advanced contemporary wholesale fashion event, hosted by Informa Markets Fashion. It brings together a unique community of domestic and international brands and retailers representing individuality, dynamism, and creative expression in menswear collections.

As part of a continued partnership with New York Men’s Day, Edwina Kulego, Vice President of International + Men’s for Informa Markets Fashion, and Erin Hawker, Owner + Founder for Agentry PR, lead a fireside chat and live model presentation with emerging menswear designers to watch. They included Aaron Potts (A. POTTs), Clara Song, and Manuel Garcia Espejo and Michael Ward Espejo (The Salting), who will showcase their SS24 collections as part of New York Men’s Day in September.

Aaron Potts of A. POTTs designs a menswear line that is size and age inclusive. He creates clothing that he wants to wear, to make things that people want to keep and take care of. The designer says his brand is unisex — strips away gender to just look at beautiful silhouettes, and to find the spirit of the person through their clothes.

New York based Clara Song applies her life experiences and storytelling throughout her “fluid-full” clothes. Her upcoming collection is all about bugs, particularly inspired by the beetle. The pieces are worn like armor with lots of ruching.

Manuel Garcia Espejo and Michael Ward Espejo of The Salting are working on a unisex resort/cruise-wear line for all to wear. The designers want to stay joyful with clothing. Everything is made in America and the duo work with sustainable, family owned mills.

Coming home to its downtown roots, PROJECT New York offers the menswear community an opportunity to make industry connections in an intimate location surrounded by the energy of the city. This event supplies the space for important industry conversations on current trends, opportunities, and challenges facing the fashion industry.
