Altuzarra has become one of Fashion Week’s favorite designers, and once again, they did not disappoint. The beauty looks for the show were incredible and complimented the designer’s pieces beautifully. This collection was based on Greek mythology, with a concentration on the sea.
We spoke to lead hairdresser, Jawara, and he explained that the hair direction for the show as a woman who was trying to do her own hair and makes beautiful mistakes along the way. He says “it’s a woman who wants to be a hairstylist, but she’s not really a hairstylist, they’re almost like a build up to break down styles”. There was a focus on healthy hair, as Jawara explains “we’re using all Dyson tools, to minimize heat damage; styling tools do not have to be turned up to the highest heat setting in order to work on well”, he continues “we’re applying Nutrafol Stress Reliever serum directly to the scalp”. The hair serum soothes irritated scalps and promotes healthy hair. A perfect treatment for models, who have to get their hair styled repeatedly throughout Fashion Week.
The makeup was executed by key artist, Diane Kendal, and it was simply stunning! we asked Kendal to describe the look, and she said “the models were given a gorgeous smoky eyes with gold brush strokes on top, starting in the middle of the eye”. The skin had a dewy finish to it for them to appear almost as sea creatures “we’re strategically placing contour and highlight at the cheekbones, bridge of the nose, and top of the lip.”
The nails, simple but classically gorgeous, were executed by Yukie Natori of Yukie Natori New York using nude polishes from Chanel. There is nothing more chic than a beautifully executed manicure.
