The First Monday in May is back! This week we captured a collection complete with Met Gala and Afterparty looks from our fave, fashionable celebs. This is the first time the event has been able to be held on its usual day since the pandemic started. The theme is a part 2 to the previous year, and is called In America: an Anthology of Fashion, and the dress code is Gilded Glamour. Read below for a recap of some of the best looks of the night!

Alessandro Michele & Jared Leto — Met Gala

Outfits: Gucci

We are seeing double with Alessandro and Jared in their matching Gucci suits and long brown hair.  The pink bow ties, crystal hair barrettes, and big sunglasses contribute to the Glamour side of the theme, while the vintage-looking pattern and cream colored suits contribute to the Gilded Era aspect. I found it amusing that they wore the same outfit and styled it the same way, even though it gave us one less Met Gala look to analyze.

Kylie Jenner — Afterparty

Dress: Off-White

Kylie Jenner may have missed the mark this year with her Off-White Met Gala attire, but she made up for it with an ethereal Off-White afterparty look. The silk, gloves, ruching detail, and corset follow the theme better than her red carpet look. It was a missed opportunity to be the best dressed in the Kardashian/Jenner clan at the event.  This dress is flattering and elegant on Kylie and I love the contrast created with her dark hair.

Billie Eilish — Met Gala

Dress: Gucci

Billie Eilish was one of the celebrities that actually stuck to the Gilded Glamour theme this year. The pale color palette and corset are of the time, and the addition of the lace sleeves gives the overall look a modern touch. I never would have expected to see Billie sport a look like this, but she certainly did rock it!

Blake Lively — Afterparty

Dress: Versace

It was difficult to choose between talking about Blake’s mid-carpet outfit change for this weeks As Seen On…, or her Serena van der Woodsen-esque dress. I ultimately chose the afterparty look because I think it was a perfect look to follow her original one, it relates to the theme, and looks like it could be the party version of a full gown. The intricate texture and tassel details have her looking expensive and regal.

Bella Hadid — Met Gala

Outfit: Burberry

Bella had one of my favorite looks of the Gala. I love the mixture of textures and the extra, draping material coming off of her arms. The matching gloves and tights are an appreciated detail, but my favorite part is the anklet. The stark white pearls stand out against the all black outfit. The anklet is more chunky and eye catching than what we normally think of an anklet to be. I can totally see big, dramatic anklets becoming THE accessory of the spring/summer.

Kendall Jenner — Afterparty

Outfit: Miu Miu

I am yet to come across a lingerie-as-everyday-wear outfit that I didn’t like. This outfit seems perfect for an after party because while it is see through and sexy, it also seems comfortable since it’s nightwear. Usually, when people style lingerie, they layer black underneath—but not in this case. If anyones going to pull off showing rose-gold colored underwear in public, it’s going to be be Kendall Jenner.

Gunna — Met Gala

Outfit: Thom Browne

It is a running joke that male celebrities often opt for standard black suits and tuxes when it comes to the Met Gala, but Gunna kicked the basic formal wear up a notch with something way more exciting than a suit jacket—a cape! The gold thorn details make him appear royal and glamorous, and the dog bag, wearing its own similar outfit, is a fun touch.
