…on an iPhone: Mexico

The third in our travel diary for this summer is Mexico, a girls’ trip for our Editor’s cousins 50th birthday… something a little different, but something a little special too…

Part I: Temptations

The Twins. Yes they are 50!

“This trip came about when my cousin called me and said she wanted to do something big for her twin sister’s 50th birthday. She suggested a holiday and told me that her travel agent had booked us 7 days in Cancun, Mexico in August. I was surprised. Then she tells me it’s all-inclusive too! So now I’m curious – what are we in for? I googled the hotel for some reviews…

The first article I found was titled “I Went to a Sex Resort and It Was Basically Spring Break for Millennials.” The hotel we booked into was the Temptations Resort – “the playground for adults.” Straight away I messaged my friends and family to make sure that they knew about the hotel.  My cousin swore that she didn’t know the hotel was anything other than a normal all-inclusive resort, but as everything was paid for we had no choice but to go. So, we figured we’d go, have a great time, mind our own business and just have the occasional nosy at what was going on with people also staying there. It was an all girls’ trip – no kids and no men, we needed a break!

When I landed at temptations, the first thing I noticed was that the resort was sexy. Like, seriously sexy. I felt like I needed to up my game! As we headed to check in to our rooms we walked past some of the ground-floor rooms and one had the shades up, there was a shirtless older gentleman in there who waved so I waved back. And then I noticed the huge dildo sticking out the wall!! Reminding me that I’m not in Kansas anymore! Our rooms were absolutely beautiful, mine overlooked one of the pools called the ‘Quiet Pool’ as there’s no music in that area. The room had a sexy vibe and a lovely balcony (where we did spot some folks having some sexy time!).

This hotel boasts 7 amazing restaurants, of which I tried 6 (the seventh, SHE, is a couples only restaurant). My favorite was the Mexican restaurant for obvious reasons. I have never had such good Mexican food and I know it’s because I was actually in Mexico. The dishes were so full of flavor. I highly recommend getting the piña coladas if you go here, they were the absolute bomb! I think the virgin tasted even better than the one with alcohol! I had more piña coladas in that week than I’ve had in my whole life. Breakfast is a buffet style affair, typical of all-inclusive resorts, but full of fabulous food. Ivan was usually our morning server and he was super nice.

As part of the entertainment at the resort there are some themed nights, whether that be dinners or parties, and as a stylist, I LOVE a theme! Our group planned to attend the lingerie night and the white night. I ended up packing three options for the lingerie night and two for the white. Our first night at the hotel was the lingerie party which we were all really excited for, and my outfit was courtesy of Yandy.com. Later in the week I also wore an S&M harness by Bijoux Indiscrets. Loved it!

Despite being a little apprehensive before this trip, and not really being sure what it was going to be like I was so pleasantly surprised! My favorite thing about the place was just how lovely everyone was – others staying there were so friendly, and not just because they wanted to hook up. Everybody is relaxed and there for a good time and the staff are amazing.”

Just a little note on body positivityduring our stay at the resort there’s a lot of opportunities to show off your assets, to any degree you wish and the hotel does offer some services like sexy photo shoots which some of my girlfriends did for their husbands. One thing that really stood out was that I didn’t feel fat or out of shape there. There were a number of bigger women there just letting it hang made me feel like I was ok and I really appreciated that about the hotel.”
