While innocently scrolling around on the Internet, I recently stumbled upon probably one of the most fire TikTok trends I’ve ever seen. A TikTok creator that uses the handle @divinamuse does a video of what she calls “anti-mascara eye looks.” What is that, you ask? She’s using a mascara wand and mascara to create some of the most incredible eye makeup looks I’ve ever seen. So creative!
She used the mascara wand alone for some of the eye makeup looks, and some of them, she manipulated the shape with makeup brushes and cotton buds. When she did one look, I was already floored because after an 11-year career as a makeup artist; I’ve never seen or heard of such a thing. But, when the girlfriend pulled out a second look and a third… I was gagged! You can use an infinite combination of colors to bring these looks to life and tailor them to your eye shape and mood. Honestly, one of the looks @divinamuse created featured the mascara rolling from eye to cheek – and it looked dope AF!
I wouldn’t be a good beauty bestie if I didn’t recommend some mascaras that would work well If you would like to re-create this at home. Almost every brand makes mascara, so I’m sure you don’t need help finding that. But if you want to turn it a notch, colored mascara is the way to go! Not every brand makes colored mascara, so I’ve got your back with three of my favorite picks. A super affordable option is Ciate London; they have pink, turquoise, and yellow options. My favorite is the Diorshow Pump ‘N’ Volume (it’s currently in my purse). If you want to splurge a little, Yves Saint Laurent makes gorgeous violet mascara, but it comes with a hefty price tag.
