Do you use sunscreen every day? We all know that we should, but whether you do or not is a different story. Unfortunately, ‘like it or leave it’ does not apply in this case. Even though it is a part of my own morning routine, and I feel bare without it, my son and husband need to be reminded daily.
Protecting your skin from UV rays is essential, no matter if you are young/old, or light/dark-skinned. So, today, I would like to share different types of sunscreens that my family has tried.
Ultimate Suncare –
Chanel UV Essentiel
My top pick. This recently reformulated Chanel UV Essentiel hydrates and protects your skin from pollution and photoaging, and also brightens your skin. An ultimate dream sunscreen for all skincare lovers out there. You can use it with or without foundation/makeup; and, of course, suitable for ladies, gents, and non binaries!
Great for sensitive skin –
EltaMD UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46
EltaMD is a dermatologist-recommended brand and an excellent option for people with sensitive skin. The no-oil formula may appeal to those with oily or acne-prone skin in particular. This is a hybrid (both chemical and physical) sunscreen, so it works under or over your makeup. This formula also comes in tinted versions for your convenience.
For sunscreen haters –
Glossier Invisible Shield SPF 35
A sunscreen product that does NOT feel like your usual sunscreen. The light, clear, and non-greasy formula from Glossier will surely please anyone who avoids wearing SPF for its “feel”.
Another one for sunscreen avoiders –
The Ordinary. Mineral UV Filters SPF 30 with Antioxidants
A great all-mineral option with a nice price tag. Packed with antioxidants, this one can be replaced with your morning moisturizer because it is an all-in-one.
SPF for your entire family –
La Roche Posay Anthelios Melt-In Milk Body and Face Sunscreen SPF 60 & Anthelios Lotion Spray Sunscreen SPF 60
Anthelios Melt-In Milk Body and Face Sunscreen is a non-greasy, fast-absorbing, and water-resistant sunscreen that is good for your face and body. I put this in my son’s bathroom so he can apply it all over in the morning. It is also great for family outings. Anthelios Lotion Spray Sunscreen is a beautiful touch-up sunscreen. It is easy and quick to apply, and kids love it.
Baby Suncare –
Babyganics Mineral Sunscreen Stick SPF 50+
This all-mineral sunscreen is gentle, yet provides broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection. The stick shape makes it easy to apply to your little ones’ small bodies/faces.
Sunscreen for hands –
Supergoop Hand screen SPF 40
Hands also need to be protected, especially since we always wash and wipe them! I take a travel-sized version of this product, and use it while driving. It’s easy to put it in your purse and have access to hand lotion throughout the day.
If you are still looking for perfect sunscreen you can enjoy using, I hope something interests you on my list. If you know some other ones that you think we must learn about, please share.
Well, summer is almost here. So let’s enjoy the sunshine while protecting our skin!
