Sachin & Babi have just released a new and gorgeous bridal collection. Here is what the couple had to say about their love-celebrating collection!
Our collections are, and will be, inspired by the women we adore, admire and aspire to dress for the important and joyous moments in their lives. Our latest bridal collection very much reflects this admiration. Our direction really came from a Ready-To-Wear perspective. We recognize that priorities have shifted, today’s weddings are much more individual, a result of having exposure to fashion and lifestyle in a significantly different way thanks to social media. Large-scale sharing is taking place every day, and it’s creating more uniquely personal wedding experiences, and the idea of that gave us so much to work with.
The collection consciously has several different points of view when it comes to its aesthetic. As designers, our gaze went beyond one bride’s moment. It extended to all the women that share that moment with her. We pulled inspiration from cinema, architecture, and our own unique idea of what the modern bride and her party are looking for.
For the bride, there are intentional nods to the various fashion moments that are so beloved. We took looks all types of looks, from the classic tea-length dresses with lace a la Grace Kelley and Audrey Hepburn to the unconventional 3 piece suiting reminiscent of Marlene Deitrich. We were also inspired by the chic and minimalist columns of crepe, from romantically sophisticated maxis for the big day to an array of little white dresses for before and after. The consistency is found in the details of each dress, making it distinctly Sachin & Babi. As a house, we are recognized for our embellishment and our artisanal approach to design in this particular area. Our use of applique, embroidery, crystal, and beading is seen throughout the bridal collection. As always our need to honor different silhouettes is paramount to us, you’ll see that in our choices, as they all lead back to our bride.
We wanted our bridesmaid’s gowns to feel fabulous, complementing the brides but also have their own moment. We want them to wear these dresses again! For the mother, she is a star in her own right and that is reflected in our choices for colors, shapes and glittering touches saved just for her.
