Skincare is a favorite passion of most individuals. An effective skincare routine can help to improve confidence, prevent acne, prevent wrinkles, help your skin glow, and, most importantly, it can keep your skin healthy.

Despite the importance of skincare routines, it’s challenging to establish what is the best skincare routine for yourself, with millions of conflicting messages being sent your way. Contrary to popular belief, it doesn’t have to be so complicated.

Why is skin care critical?

Your skin protects you from internal and external elements. Whether you are stressed, your diet is poor, or you have an environmental reaction—it will show on your skin.

By taking care of your skin through exercise, regular sleep, and healthy foods, you’re taking care of your body and skin by decreasing potential breakouts and premature aging.

Though skincare can affect your physical appearance, it can also affect your mental state. Healthy skin can help you improve your confidence, build, and general mood.

Where do I start?

Most individuals should follow the bare minimum routine of using a cleanser to clean their face in the morning and at night and a moisturizer with SPF to protect their skin from UV rays. Feel free to extend your usage into things such as toner and serums but remember always to include the essentials.

Get Comfortable In Your Skin

Every individual is unique in their skin type. There are various skin types, such as balanced skin, dry skin, oily skin, sensitive skin, combination skin, and more. Knowing what type you are can help you to buy products that will work best for your skin type. Once you have products that fit your skin, you’re ready to begin.

Application

When it comes to application, everyone is different. Below is a guide to our ideal skincare routine for everyday wear.

  1. Use a pea size amount of gentle cleanser to wash your face in the a.m. and p.m.
  2. Apply toner (if you so choose). Toner is used after cleansing your face. Pour a few drops of toner into your palms to gently swipe on.
  3. Apply serum (if you so choose). Morning is a great time to apply a serum that contains antioxidants, while nighttime is perfect for a moisturizing serum.
  4. Use spot treatment when necessary. Acne treatments are best used at nighttime.
  5. Moisturize your skin.
  6. Apply sunscreen.
