At the Miami Swim Week Hammock Show 2022, Fashion 360 Magazine was lucky enough to meet with the founder of Island Tribe, Angeline Hayling. We talked to Angeline about the brand and its wellness mission.
Based in Palm Springs, California, Island Tribe is a brand that places wellness at the center of their entire creative process. This conscious womenswear lifestyle brand aims to provide sustainable biodegradable fabrics to provide intricate fashions. Angeline showcased the brand’s latest biodegradable collection, picking up a pair of pants. She explained if you were to bury the piece in soil it would dissolve due to its environmentally friendly material.
While the company focuses on the natural nature of their products, it also focuses on the human factors that relate to fashion production. “How are we treating the workers? How are we treating ourselves so that we have a more balanced life?” Angeline emphasized.
In addition to their clothing line, the brand most recently launched new lifestyle experience programs. Island Tribe Wellness launched at Miami Swim Week 2022 to invite healing energy into fashion and everyday life. The brand hosts different healing rituals and retreats to incite presence and positive energy into fashion. “When we look good, we feel good, when we feel good, we look good,” Angeline explained.
