Do you think you look pretty when you’re cold? Honestly, I’ve never thought about that before, but “cold girl” makeup is one of the biggest trends in beauty right now. It’s gone crazy viral on TikTok! The key to nailing this look is being generous with the blush. The idea is for your skin to have a pink flush as if you have just come out of the freezing cold. Initially, as a woman of color, I thought this look was only for Caucasian women, but after seeing TikTok beauty influencer, Sumaya Yusuf pull this look off flawlessly, I am convinced anyone can do this.
To achieve this look, use your favorite foundation and concealer products as usual – unless you tend to use a golden foundation to warm you up. In that case, use a more neutral shade. Having a sunkissed base does not a “cold girl” look make. A little hint of bronzer to add some dimension to the face is fine, but a contour is unnecessary. Place a frosty, shimmery eyeshadow color on the eyelids and inner corners to brighten up the eyes. Now for the fun part, the blush! A pink shade of powder, cream, or liquid blush can be used for this look; apply whatever formula you prefer. Place the blush all over the cheeks and onto the nose liberally. Blend it out, so there are no harsh lines, but no need to soften the color – we’re not exactly going for natural. Finish with a pink gloss, and if you want to make your lips pop, dab a bit of highlighter on the Cupid’s bow. This look is super fast; it takes about 10 minutes to complete from start to finish.
