Claudine Attoh-Okine started her journey in the beauty industry at just 17 years old. The Atlanta native’s family migrated to Easton, PA, where she stood out for looking different from the other girls. After being bullied in middle and high school for her features, she started learning how to apply makeup by watching YouTube tutorials, and her love for beauty was solidified.
Claudine had to sneak around when applying makeup and practicing because she was not allowed to wear makeup. But, once her mother realized what she was doing and saw her passion, she supported her daughter by buying her her first set of makeup brushes. Through continuous practice, Claudine became so good that the girls who made fun of her were asking her to do their makeup. The faculty even recognized her artistry by hiring her to do the makeup for all school plays. Talk about a glow-up!
Now, Claudine owns her beauty brand, Vanity de Claudè (formally known as Claudè Couture Cosmetics). The line’s initial offerings were just lashes, glosses, and highlighters. The founder had a product vending machine inside the local mall in her hometown. Over time the Vanity de Claudè brand expanded to a complete cosmetic line specializing in multi-use products, with her hero product being the HI•GLO highlighting pigments.
Inspired by Paige Louise, owner of P. Louise Makeup Academy, Claudine specializes in glamour and editorial makeup. She loves boosting the confidence of women through the power of makeup. Although she loves working with the everyday woman, her dream is to one day grace the faces of Lori Harvey and Kylie Jenner.
Claudine’s sights are currently set on getting her line picked up and sold by cosmetic giants Sephora and Ulta. She is working hard toward building her brand, and there is no doubt in my mind that she will get there soon.
