Canadian actress and dancer Devyn Nekoda stunned at the ‘Scream VI’ premiere in New York City. The ‘Degrassi’ alumn is all grown up and debuted as Anika in the ‘Scream’ franchise this weekend. In addition to being the beauty editor for this magazine, I’m also a working makeup artist and hairstylist, so when asked to do Devyn’s glam for the big night, I couldn’t have said yes quickly enough! We went a little edgy with her hair and makeup to compliment the audacious Monse dress that her stylist, Amanda Lim, pulled for her. The 22-year-old beauty ate and left no crumbs on the red carpet.
For makeup, we kept the skin glowy, accentuated her bone structure with contouring, and gave her thin, winged eyeliner. The glow was created with CTZN Cosmetics Globalm; it makes the skin dewy without a glittery or metallic finish. For contouring, are used the elusive Dior Backstage Contour Palette; it’s a reliable contour product that always gets the job done. And the wing was created with my holy grail gel liner from Inglot Cosmetics; this stuff does not budge, so I love using it when clients have an event.
We really wanted to have fun with the hair and make a statement, so we decided on a long, low ponytail with a middle part. I attached a bundle of hair extensions to create Devyn’s luxurious pony and “locked in” the style with ECRU New York Sunlight Styling Spraying . The sleek ponytail did not compete with the dress but gave just the right amount of drama in the back to make it chic AF!
