During New York Fashion Week F/W 2023, I arrived backstage at the luxurious Ritz Carlton to cover the beauty looks for Bronx and Banco. This brand is known for its fun, elegant party dresses, and they absolutely brought it with the beauty for the show.
Lead makeup artist for Stila Cosmetics, Charlie Riddle, describes the look as “dripping in a color. “ He says, “the look is high shine, we used a lot of metallics to complement the clothes.” Depending on the model’s look, they alternated between gold and silver metallics. Riddle was sure to keep the skin fresh and matte; all the girls looked amazing!
Lead hairstylist Aubrey Loot used Wella Professional products and GHD tools to create the hair looks. Loot states that the designer wanted to keep the hair clean because it was all about the face. Pulled-back hairstyles are often dull, but not in this case! Although all the styles are clean and sleek, they pack plenty of drama. The models’ styles alternated between ponytails with gold leaf, French twists with rope detail accessories, and dramatic long braids. Each look was simply perfection.
When I thought the backstage glam could not get any better, the nails blew me away! Yuki Natori of Yuki Natori New York Designed custom press-on nails for the collection. Staying within the overall theme, the nail technicians used gold and silver metallics and rhinestones to create swoon-worthy nail art. I don’t think I’ve seen models more excited to get their nails done for a show. The nail sets for each model were chosen depending on the piece they were wearing. I’m not going to lie; for a second, I thought about risking and running off with the nail case; they were amazing.
