Vicky Zhang S/S 2018

Xu Xinyin brings her avant-garde sensibility to the creation of a family oriented revolution in Chinese fashion for her brand Vicky Zhang. Inspired by and named for the designer’s four-year old daughter, the line combines traditional Chinese mores such as decency and determination, with those of a new young generation, including rebellion and temerity.

The color palette consisted of ivory, emerald green, moss green, refreshing mint, jeweled blue, and some red.  Floor length frocks were elegant, albeit costumey at times, but wearable.  There certainly were some outfits suitable for your wedding day and perhaps a party at a palace!

The collection includes garments (many gowns) that range from a heritage of simple, fluid separates to intricate masterpieces reflecting an interest in continuing silk Suzhou embroidery and unique construction.  Indeed, the Vicky Zhang collection combines a sense of custom with modernity and allows moms to coordinate their looks with their children for those extra special occasions.  They are meant to feel exquisite and opulent, but not functional during those rare events.
