The Makeup Show NYC 2017

Community, networking, education, and inspiration are the best four words to describe the Makeup Show. (Shelly Taggar, Owner, The Makeup Show)

The Makeup Show is one of the biggest events in the makeup world. It was originally organized by professional makeup artists for professional makeup artists. it consisted of two days of  extremely helpful workshops for professional makeup artists not only on makeup techniques but also on some specifics of everyday work of a makeup artists. While also featuring new makeup brands, great shopping and of course extremely creative artists.

All of those things remain true with some additions to the festivities. There are some unique features and opportunities because The Makeup Show has its home in New York City which is the capital of the fashion and beauty world. The show’s Director of Education and Artist Relations and downtown makeup artist takes you to some of his favorite fashion and makeup destinations on the Makeup Show Beauty Tour NYC. With plenty of stops on the tour James Vincent will be sure to have a beauty insider experience like you’ve never had before.

This year’s show was as always packed with a mix of diverse brands for makeup artists and hairstylists. Giving them the opportunity to experience almost 100 exhibitors. For the most convenient shopping every year you can get a detailed floor plan of the Metropolitan Pavilion, where the Makeup Show is held, on the official website.

Among  the exhibitors were some amazing skincare stands like Embryolisse USA that is famous for their Lait-Creme Concentre moisturizer that every makeup artist is familiar with, TWINMEDIX – has a great line of serums that also includes a gentle skin peel and an oxidized face mask after using which your skin feels extremely moisturized, TeiSPA Beauty presented a great skin care tool: Ojo Renew – which is created specifically for the gentle under eye area. They also have  an amazing Hydro-velour bio-cellulose skin masks that feels absolutely amazing.

As always there was the most diversity among the makeup brands. The biggest presentation belonged to Make Up For Ever who had quite a few creative demos to take a look at. One of the innovative products was presented by a very fresh brand from LA that makes gel glitter pastes with great names for different colors which are LEMONHEAD and you should definitely check those guys out because glitter is the biggest trend right now. LASH POP presented a great 3 component latex, parables and chemical free eyelash glue kit perfect for band eyelashes.

One of our most favorite brands the Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (OCC) has also presented some new products that are called Nothing’s Shocking which are the nude lip glosses perfectly pigmented  that are great for a variety of skin tones and don’t skip their holographic glitters because this season is all about the glitter!

As for hairstyling products and tools, it’s hard not to mention AMIKA: a New York based brand that’s known for a  versatile line of products where you can find everything for really any type of hair and of course everything smells just amazing. The products have a very gentle flowery but not too sweet kind of smell.

As this NYC adventure is over the Makeup Show is heading over to Chicago in June to have some more fun.
