Images by: Patrick McMullan/PMCIt was truly an honor to be invited to the Blue Jacket Fashion Show. The fashion community came together to support the Prostate Cancer Foundation, in a fashionable way. In the midst of Men’s New York Fashion Week kicked off for the 1st Annual Blue Jacket Fashion Show. The Blue Jacket Fashion Show’s goal was to bring awareness to prostate cancer for The Blue Jacket Initiative. Models wore designer jackets with the color that represents prostate cancer, blue. The Blue Jacket Initiative was founded by Fredrick Anderson and Laura Miller.

Amongst a proper group of celebrities who modeled the jackets included Creative Director for Barney’s Simon Doonan, who wore a Theory fitted button down blazer. New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz and Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia wore John Varvatos. Host, Carson Kressley wore a Nicole Miller fitted blazer. Singer Ian Mellencamp, who opened the show, rocked a Maggie Norris tailcoat. Scientist and activist Bill Nye looked better than even in a gorgeous light blue paisley Nick Graham blazer. Many more celebrities graced the runway in blue designer jackets for the cause. The show concluded with surprise guest Melba Moore, who serenaded the crowd extravagantly.

We caught up with attendee and stylist for Beyoncé, Ty Hunter, who shared his experience at the fashion show. “I’m happy I was able to come to this show, it’s for a great cause and glad I could show my support. Hopefully, I can walk in the show next year.” Ty, who wore a blue Dolce & Gabbana suit to the show, shared his experience at NYFWM thus far. “I’ve never had the chance to attend Men’s Fashion Week. I love N-p-Elliot, I could wear each and every collection.” While styling for Beyoncé and attending shows, Ty shared what he has up his sleeve. “I’m getting ready for my own show! I did a collaboration with Reflexs for six:02, which is Footlocker, a women’s athleisure line that debuts on the 22nd of February.” Stay tuned to Fashion360mag for all the details on TY’s show.
