Tadashi Shoji F/W 2018

Spread the love

Tadashi Shoji presented his Fall/Winter 2018 collection in a runway show during New York Fashion Week. The collection paid homage a woman’s “sensuality, color, and joie de vivre.” Tadashi envisioned a confident woman who represented both strength and grace as he designed this season’s collection. “Bold,” Tadashi said when describing his latest collection backstage before the show. He discussed the role of social media in bringing forward sexuality and provocativeness to the public. Although he understands its importance, Tadashi wanted to go to the opposite way and talk about a woman’s boldness this season. His ideal woman is someone who is self-assured and unapologetic and not afraid to show off her confidence.

High slits and bare shoulders dominated the runway in vibrant shades of red, violet and dark blue. Metallic gold embodied radiant femininity while dark hues exuded confidence. The highlights of the collection were a shimmery gold sequin pantsuit and a floor-length blue gown with an asymmetrical neckline.

Makeup, was led by Pep Gay of MAC Cosmetic, and was soft, feminine and celebratory. The focus was on shimmery peachy eyelids and bright red lips. Long wavy hair was the work of Kevin Ryan of R Session Tools, and nails were led by Evelyin Lim of Lust V Cosmetics. Models wore undergarments by Commando, jewelry by Sequin and shoes by Cecelia New York.
