A wardrobe destined for a contemporary American western film would fit the description for Private Policy’s Spring/Summer 2018 menswear collection. The set design of the presentation resembled the styles perfectly – a cowhide rug, an American flag, and wooden platforms that models stood on. The Trinkets collection included functional outerwear for Spring such as a light blue lightweight trench coat detailed with black buttons, ideal for rainy April showers. A pink and gold fitted polyester bomber is a fun way to turn those June gloom days into a bright one. A woven jacquard matching jacket and shorts ensemble highlighted the collection.

The beautiful kaleidoscope print cultivated a 3-D printing design, colors of ivory green with pops of pink and beige created a sophisticated look for this reinvented Native American style. A monochromatic ensemble created a jumpsuit like effect, such as the pink oversized satin polo with belt buckles on the shoulders were tucked into matching pink shorts with pockets, giving a new look to the basic polo shirt.

The Trinkets collection by Private Policy was inspired by bits and pieces of ordinary American life, because as we all know, the small things can indeed reflect the big picture, like current American political chaos. The goal for designers Haoran Li and Siying Qu of Private Policy for the Trinkets collection is to notice the small details so we can once again appreciate the beauty of the Dream.
