The opulent interior of Cipriani Midtown served as the perfect venue for Malan Breton’s opulent Fall-Winter 2018 collection presented at Style Fashion Week. The lengthy runway show was a visual feast combining fashion and theatricality, reminiscent of the Taiwanese-born American designer’s own background in theater and film.

This season, Breton continues to execute meticulous impeccable frocks and bespoke outfits for both women and men, preferably of the celebrity and royalty calibers, or at least customers must be confident, daring and a tad eccentric. The color palette consisted of glossy jet blacks, deep jeweled blues, and luxurious vibrant prints bursting over red, rust, and orange backgrounds. Standout looks were plentiful and included sleek tailored suits with severe pointed shoulders, corseted red-carpet ready gowns of various lengths, some with tasteful sheer portions and feathers; and high-drama jackets, playful bombers, and trench coats. With Breton’s collection, you’ll be dressed to the nines and ready for some Matrix-type adventures.

There was an element of modern film noir to Breton’s runway show, nonetheless, his line boasts a sultry exuberance for both the risk-taking, always fashionable, young and old. The designer launched his namesake label “Malan Breton” in 2005 which has expanded to include womenswear, menswear, outerwear, accessories, and bridal. He is an ever-creative and uber hardworking designer whose clothes always provoke and delight. His looks remain exciting and cutting-edge and leave this writer salivating for the next season.
