For LANDLORD’s Fall/Winter 2018 collection Creative Director, Ryohei Kawanishi, took inspiration from punk music and the subculture that has influenced non-conformist fashion over the last four decades. With a military and uniform vibe, the collection comprises of garment sets with the punk rock edge coming through on color and fabric choice.

Music and culture have always been the influencing inspiration for Kawanishi and this has resulted in a nostalgic exploration of youth culture with each season’s collection. Drawing on print to give that punk-rock edge the F/W 18 collection shows tartans, animal print, and camouflage. Bold pinks, yellows, and greens also feature throughout the collection for a dramatic and striking Fall look. The show models showed a little more attitude and emotion than you’d normally see on the catwalk which I feel gives the brand that little more personality.

For LANDLORD’s fifth season, the brand is debuting new collaborations, including a capsule collection with Alpha Industries, studded leather jackets with BLACKMEANS, custom boots with Dr. Martens, and Novesta, and a designer collaboration with Kosuke Tsumura (the creative mind behind famed Japanese brand FINAL HOME).

Fall/Winter 2018 marks LANDLORD’s fourth consecutive season showing at New York Fashion Week: Men’s. Retailers include Opening Ceremony in New York, Los Angeles and Japan and online; as well as SSENSE and several individual stockists in Japan. Attending the LANDLORD were notable guests Metro BoominSmokepurppSAINt JHN and Gunner Stahl and the brand remains a favorite of celebrities such as Big Sean, Joey Bada$$, Migos, A$AP Rocky, Rae Sremmurd, The Weeknd, and Tyga.
