Taiwanese streetwear designer Justin Yu-Ying Chou debuted his Fall/Winter 2018 collection during New York Fashion Week on Friday, February 9th at Spring Studios.

The collection, titled “SuperlinXX” (Super Links) was inspired by ancient treasures of Taiwan. Designer Justin reinterpreted Chinese imperial art into modern street style while incorporating traditional Taiwanese craft elements into it. Blue dying, hand embroidery and rush weaving were some of the techniques that Justin used, mixing vintage fabrics with modern ones. Justin’s designs were unique in that they combined Eastern culture with Western structures.

Partners of the show included footwear from Nike Air Max, and Taiwanese eyewear brand, Naughty Sunday. Style.Me offered a new 3D virtual styling technology, offering the audience to see pieces from the runway in real time on their mobile phones.

Notable attendees at the show included Rydel Lynch, Bea Miller, Becca Gross, Shaniah Mauldin, Jeremy Carver, Victoria Brito, Kevin Wu and Russian Roulette.
