On April 20, 2017, Designer Gemy Maalouf presented her 2018 Bridal Collection at the Penthouse at Dream Downtown in Meatpacking, New York City. Hailing from Lebanon where she launched her first atelier in 1996, Gemy has grown her brand to include four lines, including Gemy Maalouf, an eveningwear line, Gemy Le Pret, a pret a porter line, Couture by Gemy, and Gemy Maalouf Bridal.

Gemy Maalouf Bridal is known for its distinct style that is modern and elegant, featuring simple cuts with a romantic twist. Keeping up-to-date with the latest trends, Maalouf drew inspiration from the magic of textile and incorporated it with her life experience. “My inspiration always comes from fabric, my mood, what I like and what I see,” said Maalouf, “l mixed embroidery with lace this time and added more volume than usual.”

Overall, the collection was elegant, feminine and romantic, with beautiful details such as sheer illusion necklines, 3-D floral appliques, and lace detailing. From ball gowns featuring tiered chiffon bottoms to slim sheath dresses to A-line silhouettes, Maalouf offered a wide range of selections for a large audience. Lace dresses with Victorian billowing sleeves and long lacy sleeves that fell to the ground were targeted for a boho-chic bride, while a tulle ball gown dress with an illusion neckline and lace details was perfect for a classic, elegant bride. A pantsuit with cape detail added a modern flair to the collection.
