Paris Haute Couture F/W 2017- Galia Lahav

Galia Lahav set out to create her own “cabinet of curiosity” this season, as the Israeli designer found inspiration for her F/W 17 Haute Couture collection in a time when much of the world went unknown. Havia’s presentation was far-reaching, showing everything from leather kimonos, to sheer ruffled gowns, to sequin embellished sheaths. Magnificently, she created a line-up that eradicated traditional categorization and instead presented a cohesive mash up of outerwear, eveningwear, and ready-to-wear.

Innovative pleating, extensive applique work, and the use of elaborate fabrics fostered a visual chef-d’œuvre. Floor-sweeping cardigans, ground grazing jackets, and silky shoulder-less numbers were belted in a number of shades, from deep blues to soft nudes. Lahav proves that straying from the norm can incite a digestible spectacle nonetheless.
