From the runways of Paris to Milan, denim emerged as a new and exciting trend this Spring/Summer season. Fashion powerhouses such as Balmain and Isabel Marant used denim as a key fabric in their collections. Here are some of the trends that you should try to bring the effortless chic to your current spring wardrobe.
Who says denim should stay blue? From floral to digital prints, Just Cavalli showed us how to mix prints and colors with denim. Seven for All Mankind and Hudson Jeans followed suit and introduced vibrant print jeans this season. Use print jeans to introduce color and patterns to your spring wardrobe this season. These jeans will go well with any solid color T-shirts.
From Rebecca Taylor to Isabel Marant, designers are incorporating various shades and textures of denim into one garment. For her Spring/Summer 2014 collection, designer Isabel Marant experimented with texture by joining triangular denim pieces together while leaving the edges frayed. If you want to stick to one shade of denim, but want to incorporate more texture into your wardrobe, this is the perfect way to go.
Denim on Denim:
We all have several pieces of denim in our wardrobe, whether they are a pair of jeans, overalls or a jacket. As we learned from the Balmain Spring/Summer 2014 collection, we can now combine all the denim pieces we have to create one perfect spring outfit. Play with different shapes and textures, as Balmain did with a quilted denim jacket paired with a flared quilted shirt. Add a gold belt for an accent and to add shape and color to the outfit.
