Lie Sang Bong fall/winter 2012 collection is tailored for a modern, risk-taking woman full of mystery and power. Collection presented 41 looks combining sophistication and audaciousness. It touched upon almost every current trend of the season ranging from luxurious fur and sleek leather to mixing prints and asymmetrical outerwear.
Gaining inspiration from Korean “Dol Dam”, unevenly constructed stonewalls; Lie Sang Bong garments featured a signature pattern of round cobblestones of various shapes, sizes and textures. A standout patterned piece was a lace/sequined ruby red skirt worn under yet another layered fur skirt and paired with a raspberry sheer lace blouse. Another garment with a cobblestone pattern I simply couldn’t walk past was the pink/black symmetrical dress featuring the print on the front shielded with a layer of thick mesh fabric generating a graphic effect.
One of the hottest trends of the season, layering, was surely authorized by this collection. My absolute favorite was the layering a gray cropped textured vest over outerwear to create a daring sexy look. Notable layered ensembles included the sheer gray sleeveless top paired with gray leather shorts, a symmetrical gray/black jacket and gray boots and a sheer spider-web-like black dress covered with a large gray patterned jacket.
