The Screen Actors Guild awards were held in Hollywood on this past Sunday. The night played host to a flock of A-List stars in a multitude of dazzling silhouettes, colors and luxe fabrics.

The Noir Club
Angelina Jolie and Emma Stone were positively adorable in a tea length black Alexander Mcqueen frock with a lace bodice and frilly ankle strap heels. Angelina Jolie went back to her gothic beginnings in a black fluid Jenny Packham halter gown. Her look was completed with a simplistic gold cuff and black and gold vintage earrings. Ashlee Simpson was also a stunner in a full length black and gold embellished gown.

Coloring Outside the Lines
Black did not own the night, stars stepped out in full color. Modern Family’s Julie Bowen wore a striking ethereal magenta Temperley London gown. Emily Blunt dazzled the red carpet in a jewel tone emerald green Oscar de la Renta one shoulder gown with a seductive split baring just enough skin. Sofia Vergara’s strapless fuchsia Marchesa fishtail gown was old Hollywood glam with a punch of modern color.

Losers of the night came in undressed, overdressed and questionably in between. The fashions of the night were a wild ride for all of Hollywood to see. Shailene Woodley attempted to take a risk in a L’Wren Scott floral frock which was far from award show worthy. Every season L’Wren Scott consistently seems to make the worst dressed list!

Busy Phillips definitely lived up to her name in a particularly busy beach dress which was fitting of the Santa Monica pier far away from the red carpet. The safe and boring club included Jessica Chastin in a blue simplistic Calvin Klein bustier dress, and Michelle Williams in a Valentino red with a lace bodice gown.

I personally loved Emma Stone, Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer aka “The Help”. Emma was fun and fresh even in black. Vavavoom Viola showed off her assets perfectly and Octavia was elegant in her gown. I expected more from Michelle Williams and Zoe Saldana though.
