The fun and flirty season of Spring and Summer is finally on the horizon.  No matter your age, we’ve got a trend for you so dig out your brightly colored palettes and welcome spring with a pretty pucker and glowing eyes!

Spider lashes and bright eyes

The question of what single makeup item you’d have with you if stranded on an island is a no brainer.  Mascara!  This new trend is based on something you have probably tried avoiding your entire life…clumpy lashes.  Clumpy lashes can create doll-like peepers and with every blink you’ll be sure to attract more attention.  When you think you’ve applied enough mascara for this trend, add another 3 coats.  Standing 3 meters back from the mirror, you should be able to see your lashes.  That’s when you know you’ve applied enough.  Keep your eyes bare and play up your lips if you wish.  With this technique, you can transform from a day to evening makeup in no time.  Probably the easiest trend for S/S.

For our suited ladies out there, we all know how limiting work wear can be.  Here is a great way to bring some trendiness to a conservative work place.  Bright eyes were making a comeback on numerous runways with an emphasis on blues and oranges.  Now this may sound a bit alarming but fret not!  A light smudging of color between the lower lashes while keeping everything else bare is all you’ll need.  Now for those that are a more daring, wear the pop of color as a winged liner or a sweep over the entire eyelid.  Be prepared to start receiving those compliments.

I’ve tried the winged eye with blue eyeliner and boy, did my eyes pop out! The only problem was that I only owned coral, pink and red hues for blushes and lipsticks and I did not want to look like a clown! I’ve learned my lesson since then and have invested in multiple hues of blushes and lipsticks so I can pull of the winged eye look when I’m feeling fierce.
