One of my absolute favorite trends of this winter is feathers!  This year feathers have made ubiquitous appearances in our hair, however it has also been making quite an impact in clothing.  I love how adaptable this dramatic piece is.  You could pair this with a modish beaded sweater, looking like you walked straight off the cat walk.  Or, try revving up your style with a scintillating blouse giving your look an elegant touch.

A new found holiday must is the sequin skirt.  Becoming one of the most versatile pieces of the season, it can easily be dressed up for a fancy evening with a romantic silky blouseor matched with an oversized sweater for a casual holiday brunch.  Accessorize with dangly gold earnings and a bold cuff.

Metallics are extremely in this season and have become very accessible.  In almost every store a fierce metallic shade or color shirt, pumps, or purse can be found. Complete your ensemble with a pair of hot black vinyl spandex with attention-stealing heels or flat leather over-the-knee boots.   Add a little animal-fever with a faux fur vest or velvet jacket.

What about that romantic dinner date on Christmas Eve?  Nothing says a passionate night with candle light for two under the mistletoe more than a sexy, black, lace dress.  A timeless classic that is perfect for that special holiday evening.  Keep your look soft and pretty with a rose satin shoe and an oversized ring, while brightening up your face with feminine earrings.  If you’re aiming for a sultrier get-up slip on a low black pump.

Now, pump up those Christmas tunes, grab a glass of bubbly, slip into one of these 2011 holiday must-haves and in the words of Tim Gunn, “Make it work!”

I was on a feather skirt hunt since November! Ebay proved to be futile because most feather skirts were overpriced and had to be shipped from China. I finally chanced upon the Cooperative Plumage Dress from Urban Outfitters last month. Priced down from $199 to $60, I had to buy it even if it was a dress and not a skirt. The feathers were sparse and would fall off with a little tug. But I still love the look! I can’t wait to dress it up with lots of jewelry and heels for a nice date with hubby or dress it down with dark boots and a blazer.
